It has been a long, long time since I've updated the blog and I won't bore you with the multitude of reasons why!
Along with the break from blogging, I also took a 6 week break from scrapbooking but the February Up The Street Kit was the perfect thing to get me back into it! This month Tara did two sides to the kit that can work on their own or together. I worked with "Let The Sun Shine" and Lesley worked with "My Shabby Valentine" and "Let The Sun Shine".
"Let The Sun Shine" was exactly what I needed in this dreary, grey month! Lots of bright yellows and turquoise and as always, lots of gorgeous embellishments! So many buttons!
I made three layouts and a card this month. In addition to the kit I also used some other things from Up The Street: Dear Lizzy foam Thickers in white, some Studio Calico Mister Huey's in Sunshine, some Basic Grey Curio brads and a My Mind's Eye "Family" tag .
I've been playing with the ipod I got for Christmas and taking lots of photos with the Hipstamatic app and the Instagram app. So, I used one of those photos for this page. I LOVE the KI Memories calendar paper with all that stitching!! I sprayed the Thickers with the Mister Huey mist to give them a nice warm yellowy-orange colour.
I've been looking for ways to display more of the kids artwork around the house...so I did a smaller layout to fit into an 8 x10 frame. Rather than using Ruby's original drawing, I scanned it and printed it for this layout. Her drawings are so sweet!
Next up, a baby card. The colours in this kit were perfect for a gender-neutral card. I took apart the Prima flower and added one of the Sasafrass Lass blooms to the top.
For my final layout, I used some more of my ipod photos of a recent trip to A&W for lunch with my dad. The girls never get pop at home, so root beer is a HUGE treat for them. After drinking it, Ruby asked "How much sugar is in this stuff, because I feel really silly!!".
I rolled up some of the Webster's eyelet trim to make the little flower.
Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you are staying warm....there's another huge winter storm on the way!
